Reaming out the birdseye becomes necessary to accomodate larger center pins. I think you can easily see that If a person goes all the way to a size 26 center pin, replacement of the hammer butt is just around the corner. Whereas, rebushing affords the opportunity to retain the original action parts. Having said that, it becomes a judgement call as I said earlier, depending on so many variables that all of us have to make at one time or another. As long as you are willing to stand by and back your decisions, even if it later proves to be an incorrect one, you can't go wrong. Thank you, Keith A.
