We may be stupid about our limited knowledge of some things in our lives but we all have the right to learn. AOL better known as AOHELL by those who have been on it for a while is the number one cause of disatisfaction with the internet. AOL has major problems with it's e-mail and general web-browsing systems ( long lag times, crashes, no e-mail for days, etc.). This is an ongoing problem caused by tens of millions of people using those "50 hours free" disks and logging in for hours at a time. AOL still hasn't figured out that there is no profit in "free" online service and sending out millions- actually billions of disks to people to log in free. ( I get 1-2 a week) Despite AOL's claims of big profits they are actually in serious debt and the system can't handle the load. There is no money to upgrade the system and little interest in doing so according to insiders. AOL is also constantly under a series of major lawsuits from customers and is/has been undergoing government investigations for fraud and price fixing, misleading advertising etc.. For anyone who is using AOL and has not explored other ISP's you are in for a shock when you find out how much better the other services are. Not all ISP's are good and all suffer from problems from time to time but AOL is among the worst for serious crashes to the system of all the service providers. If you experiance constant crashes with your ISP or you find it impossible to log in or find your mail on the server. Then it's time to complain. If you don't get the proper answers and/or improved service then it's time to look elsewhere. I know that it's sometimes hard to find ISP's in some places that are out of the way but for most folks ISP's are everywhere and they will bend over backwards to get your business. Just like any piano tech or owner will say - if the service ain't good, why go back? Nelson. P.S. for anyone looking for interesting websites regarding keyboard musical instruments try mine. It's a site devoted to listing all the websites on the web devoted to organs, pianos, harpsichords etc. (lottsa work) Not the best site in the world and not the most organised but it sure is big.
