Moving a grand with no Skid, if you ave to is really no, problem

1. Make sure you have a good (dolly/pianomans dolly)
	a. It's safest to have a thick rubber "no-skid" surface
-this shouldn't do any damafge to the side of the rim..handled properlyee

2. Remove the pedals FIRST.

3. Remove only the Bass side leg

4. Lower the Bass side down onto a ,moving blanket, right there on the floor.

5. Remove the other two ramaining legs

6. Now your question,
	- lift the back of the pinao up to the balance point, of this piano
Tip, if I have plenty of help (ie. not just myself) I have my helper, go to
the front of the piano and pull from the "top" (down) at the same time I pull
my side up.

This really takes the load off of the lift, when doen properly.

Now we have the piano with the abck of the rim up in the air, and I am holding
it with 1 finger (balanced rember).

DO NOT PUT IT ON THE TROLLY:

Lift the trolly from one end to match the angle of the piano as it is
balanced,

Fit trolly to the side oy the rim snuggly, Get the picture so far?

Now the trolly is fit(to) on the piano rim..before you let it down, gently

With the rubber non-skid surface and used properly it won't "skid" hence the
term, with the poper technique, works very well.

TIP: When you have to set up a grand by yourself, or even when you have a
helper,

Put the treble leg, (the one up in the air when it's on the side, then the
bass leg,
then the pedals...make sure they are all tight,

Estinate the distance from the floor to the bottam of the "pedals" about 1to
1.5 inches. Place one of you folded movining blankets (they are always folded
right!)
And add an inch or so.

Carefull, tilt the piano and it will touch the bottom of the pedals on top of
you blanket, carefull with this tequnique, requires of bit of ...I don't know
skill?

When the bottom of the pedal just begins to sit on top of the blanket, you'll
feel or see the back leg now touching the floor, careful here, smoothly with
force..and controll, Lift the Bass side up to allow your treble leg (which is
already secured to the piano), touch the floor. And ther you have the piano
is now sttting on the>
1. Back leg
2. treble leg
3. pedals
Ummstill one missing, just leave it, let me run down to the truck and get it,
The pian will because we have built up the peadal a slight "lift on the bass
leg side.
THis gives me room (and time) and no more lifting, holding gruntting or back
pain,to fit the remaining leg.

Oh what about that blanket ub=nder the pedals, Ok what I do routinely is
because I'm down there crawling on the floor putting on the last leg, I simply
get down on all fours, arch my back up to the piano lift one side up with the
flat of my back and remove the blanket, before I get out of there.

DANGER DANGER DANGER: If you don't know what your doing, you can damage the
pedals, and some pieces of junk pianos, may not support this type of
procedure, you must be able to use the pedasl as a "pivot" not slam down and
break thing,,,

Maybe If you need I'll do avideo of these soemtime..it's way to easy...

Have fun...don't hurt your self or the piano.
