Mark Potter I live in Indiana (land of Kimballs) and work on them almost daily. I have seen many Whitneys with broken spring rail springs. I just replace them all with new ones. When the customer will allow it, I reshape the hammers, regulate the action and soften the hard hammers down (alcohol & lanolin) and they make decent home pianos. Jim Turner
