pounding

Typically, when tuning pianos with high bearing friction, the key
needs to be firmly struck to render the string through the bearings and
equalize the tension throughout all the segments.

Some of our colleagues have stated that the "pounding" can be minimized
with a refined hammer technique.

Question: Can the pounding ALSO be minimized with a safe bearing
lubricant? What kind of bearing lubricant have any of you used to
successfully reduce pounding the key?
