Is it a grey market?

Frank,
In the past I've run across some U1 pianos which were "grey market" because 
of the infamouse 2 pedals on them.  For some reason I tend to think that the 
U1E series
is relatively a much newer line than the "grey market" ones, which appear to 
emerge
from the 70's, maybe early 80's (at least in my experience).
