Assuming that her old piano is still in the home, place them side by side and let HER do some comparisons. Bring a dip block along and demonstrate that the key dip is the same. Talk about touch weight and show her some samples of what worn out bushing felts can do to the feel of a piano. Talk about voicing and how her new piano can become brighter if she wishes. illustrate how the worn thin hammers she is used to will have a different sound than the are "supposed to sound". Point out the rusty strings and dirty bass windings compared to the new strings. My guess is that she will begin to see the light. Rob Goodale, RPT Las Vegas, NV
