DC back cover substitute

Dear List,

Do any of you know and/or use a suitable (and cheaper) substitute for the
Dampp-Chaser back cover for vertical pianos?

I recommend the systems with the back cover for all vertical installations,
and the cover from DC is quite expensive--around $30. Finding a cheaper back
cover means either more $$ for me, or saving $$ for the customer.

My understanding is that the back cover's function is to limit air movement
on the back side. Could not this be done as well with 8-10 mil plastic
fastened with staples?

One potential drawback might be the plastic's ability to retain heat. I
don't know for sure if that is part of the design of DC's back covers. DC's
back covers are thick, and heat retention may be desirable on the back side.
My thinking is that heat retention is necessary for a back side
installation, but not of much concern for the normal vertical installation.

Any thoughts?
