Richard, I have a G4 laptop and heat can sometimes be an issue for me. I notice that the bottom of this machine gets very hot when I am charging the battery or anytime the CPU runs a lot. I used to set a nice towel on a piano before I set the laptop on it but I have learned that makes the computer get even hotter and that is when the fan would kick on.
