Back check set so far back that, instead of checking the hammer tail, 
it simply let the tail fly on down and lodge against the rep flange. 
Hammer now 1/4" below its neighbors, shank pressed into the bumper 
felt, jack pried out from under the knuckle (and possibly wedged 
against it), and the rep lever pushed down.
