It will, has many times in the past, and still does. You drill the hole out 
to fit the spade bit shank, for control while it cuts the counter bore, 
then drill the hole out bigger to accommodate the bolt before driving in 
the t-nut with your beater of choice. If you wanted to get really tricky, 
you could grind the spade bit to cut a second counter bore to fit the 
barrel of the t-nut as well, or make another smaller bit for that.
