Subject: Yamaha G-2 sustain pedal squeek

Hello list:
I have a customer that complains about a squeak in her sustain pedal. I
have eliminated it but comes back in a couple of weeks. Seems to be the
pedal rod at the top of the hole around the bushing. Any suggestion
would be appreciated.

            Dude,

Ya gotta elaborate a little here. What vintage? How did you
eliminate the first time? Work with us here!

Kidding aside, polish rods, rebush, replace leather and
cloth punchings as necessary, Lube those coil springs on the levers, VJ
lube, Protek.

There is no one answer for such a generalized description,
but there is ONE answer for YOUR squeak. Isolate, diagnose, and the
solution will be obvious.

            Good luck

            Tom Driscoll RPT
