Encountered an old Wissner grand (7') the other day. It seemed to be =
a very well made piano with great potential(though in need of a variety =
of things, not least of which is a soundboard). It appears to mimic the =
Mason and Hamlin design somewhat. Anybody know anything about these =
pianos.

Odd. The Wissner's I've enountered have seemed much more Steinway =
clonish. Including the wonderful 54" to 56" upright that was a much =
improved version of the Steinway upright. Had a much better treble =
string termination system. Looked similar but had better string =
deflection angles. It was also the only upright piano I've ever seen =
with a fourth aliquot string ala Bluthner.
