  Just out of curiousity.... what would you say the acoustical effect of =
coating your whole soundboard (violin) with epoxy first ?=20

  Since a violin soundboard varies from 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm  a coating of =
epoxy would create a laminated object that is 30% (?) epoxy.  Experience =
with plywood cellos show that laminated boards don't sound as good.  =
Spruce is the material of choice for hundreds of years because of it's =
density and stiffness.  Changing these parameters by modification or =
substitution of material is usually counter productive.
