On April 26, The University of Alabama Continuing Studies Department, the 
School of Music, in Cooperation with the Piano Technicians Guild, is 
sponsoring Willem Blees, RPT, in a One Day Seminar, in the Choral/Opera of 
the Moody Music Building on the University of Alabama Campus in Tuscaloosa, 
Al. 

Topics to be presented are: 

Tuning Tips from Pitch Raising to Concert Work. Whether raising pitch, or 
tuning for a concert, whether you are tuning by ear, or using the latest 
electronic tuning device, this session will be a comprehensive explanation 
and demonstration of tuning and voicing techniques. Included in the class 
will be a handout of 5 different temperaments.

Psychological Troubleshooting.  Making repairs on a piano are not limited to 
the piano. Sometimes the problem is with the customer. Lean how to work with 
customers, and handle their complaints.

Preparing the Grand Action for Regulation. Before an action can be regulated, 
it needs to be cleaned and prepared. Learn some of the tricks that will make 
it easier. 

Willem Blees is the piano tuner/technician for the music department at the 
University of Alabama, with over 25 years experience, and has taught at a 
numerous seminars and conventions over the past 20 years. 

Cost is $75, which includes continental breakfast and lunch. ($8 for 
additional guests lunch).
