If it comes to raising the hammer centers/rail, shim the whole stack under 
the brackets.

Another measurement to check is the 'Magic Line". This will indicate if 
indeed the stack is too low.

(In my last post when I referred to "string impressions in the crown, are 
they fairly centered"; I meant
fore and aft of the strike point not left to right).
