Sometimes I've run across these spinets where some elbows have =
disintegrated, and others you cant get off with vise-grips. I refuse to =
pull action parts to replace elbows. Way more work than the =
"instrument" justifies. If I have one of these, I remove all the elbows =
that come off easily or with a little extra "elbow-grease," and the ones =
that just don't want to come - leave 'em. Whatever the reason, they =
obviously haven't lost enough structural integrity to warrant =
replacement. As always, inform the client of the situation and let them =
choose. If they want 'em all the same, tell them the cost for all that =
repinning and go to it!

Are you sure they are not brittle. Usually you can break them easily =
with a pair of pliers. =20

  Dear List,

I am replacing all the plastic drop action elbows on a Winter spinet. =
I have 40 elbows which are not brittle and have to be removed in some =
way other than breaking them off. Is there an easier way to do this =
other than removing the whippens and pushing out each center pin?

  Thanks for your help,

  Arthur Chickering
