Ric,

You said the magnets were about 30mm dia. by 5mm thick.  That sounds fairly 
large, maybe about the size of the weights Baldwin put on the bass bridge of 
their model 6000 uprights.  How much do they weigh?  And how many do you 
use?  I'm afraid my mind's not that bright (ask Conrad! :-)...
