I've done this a time or two, on site. A steel spatula, a bottle of 
Original Titebond, a few pipe clamps, some padding, a drop cloth, and a 
roll of paper towels. Apply all items as necessary, and come back tomorrow 
for your clamps and drop cloth.

Just another day in the trenches.
