While its true that is what is expected. Its probably not up to me as the tuner to point that out to the customer. Let them battle out what should be done. It gets too messy and too many hard feelings. It should be brought up with the dealer.

That is certainly true, BUT I also feel that no dealer should deliver a grand piano with knuckles sitting on their jacks--it's just too badly out of spec. I know this is an age-old battle but, ultimately, I feel that it is the CUSTOMER who has a right to a delivered piano that is properly set up and regulated. Actually, the customer is the only person in the chain who has every right to be ignorant about these things and to assume that the piano is right.
 
Or am I all wet?
