Thanks so much to everyone for all the helpful advice. In the archives I found Don Mannino's very complete description of how to make a fish-tale screwdriver. Armed with that tool, I took out the remains of the agraffe easily. I felt like I had an army of experienced techs looking over my shoulder. This is a great group. New agraffes are on order.
