Hello Jon Page (&Listers)
This on-going (and exceedingly interesting) topic of Front Rail Punchings is
never ending. You brought up the subject of double punchings on some makes
of European pianos. I too have seen this - but unfortunately this was many
years ago and only now are our eyes opened to the various phenomena relating
to punchings, touch felt and action geometry by the many recent comments on
the List. One strange variation I did come across (many years ago) was the
use of CORK punchings.... Maybe this'll stir up a few comments! All top
punchings be they felt, cloth or cork - I think I can safely say - are used
in conjunction with card or paper punchings for fine regulation... yes? si?
ja? da?
