It is still plastic and I just don't like plastic in a hammer.

here is  Dale's answer :

I will say though initial filing of hammers=A0create a =A0better sound =
when=20
=A0pointed up to a nicely defined strike point. The =A0the tone will=20
improve & focus better if this is done. If this has been done=A0Then go=20=

to=A0 string mating then to=A0 fine paper( 320) & ironing . If you still=20=

need=A0 a bit more attack then Try some 10 to 1 lacquer & =A0acetone =
right=20
on top of the hammer=A0 to balance the harmonic structure=A0.=A0 Use =
only 4=20
to 6 drops & call it good. I call this break in fluid. So muich of the=20=

sound we associate with attack is caused by the very top 1 mm or so of=20=

felt right on top of the hammer so there is no need witht he Ronsen=20
hammer in most case to hose it down with solutions.

Avoid hardeners if you can. First do the regulation bit, don't file=20
hammers because once fibers are gone, they are gone, try string mating=20=

and - moderate - battery voicing first.
If all that fails.. try Dales advice.
An even better way would be to install new hammers, but not every=20
customer is willing to pay for that.
