Piano Tuners' Association

There are plenty of tuners in the USA who think PTG is "cliquey". Perhaps you don't understand the chip tuning from our angle...most of us don't bring pianos up a little at a time. Bring it up and bring it up again...however many times it takes...US tuners, in general, don't believe in a little at time is beneficial in the least bit....so you're English training is showing...;-] NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT>>>>imho.

I think we can get an idea of what PTA's work life is like by their website. Predominately on the first page is a definition of straight-strung vs. overstrung and overdampers vs. underdampers. I don't think anywhere else in the world is that a front page item. I can't really remember it being discussed. My post about PTA discussing nothing but birdcages seems about right. You would think that they wouldn't have anymore birdcages in England. I thought they sent them all to us to dispose of....;-]
