Hello Joe and List

We get that problem in the UK. The caller is "cold calling" usually from
India where there are vast numbers of call stations and vaster numbers of
operators. This is one of the problems with an established land line
telephone. We have a number we can invoke to filter out nuisance calls - but
it doesn't work on those foreign ones from India. Most infuriating. The only
way to go is to stop using the land line. Get a mobile and use it full time.
Unfortunately there's this down-side of not being in the telephone directory
for people who want you. So, use an answering machine. Are we back where we
started yet? There's a hole in my bucket........

Regards from me and all those double-glazing, mobile phone pushers,
insurance salesmen. But we don't get Solicitors!

I just recently put my phone number on the "Do Not Call" list, offered by
the U.S. Government. The reason, was that I get interrupted too much when
I'm in the Shop. Since that "installation" on that "list", I'm getting more
Solicitors than ever! Any one else have this problem?
