Hi Folks http://www.pianostemmer.no/bridgecompare.html Here is a quick two perspective comparison between the 3 year old Steinway D I posted about a couple days ago that had suffered some rather aggressive string seating, and an 18 year old Steinway C that probably has had little or none at all through the years. Notice how the grooving in the C is more uniform, something that confirms one of the points I made in the july journal article... namely that left to their own these indentations will tend to form a rather uniformed curve over the bridge surface. I would suspect that in 3 to 4 years the D would take on very much the same look... tho a bit deeper. The photos of the C are not quite as good as the ones I took yesterday... but I think you get the idea well enough. I have to learn how to use a digital camera for macro photography better tho... thats for sure. Anyone wanting the entire series of all pics I saved on both pianos can just write me privatly. Cheers RicB
