Has this piano even lived in a recording studio, perhaps one with hardwood
floors? They look like some kind of acoustical treatments. Have you asked
the owner?

Subject: Mystery thingees under piano

I'm working on an old Geo Steck grand piano which has these strange sheet
metal half-pipes installed underneath. The installation is obviously not
original equipment, but was done neatly with custom formed sheet metal
installed with screws.

Does anyone want to venture a guess as to what the "installer" had in mind?

P.S. This is not a puzzler snce I sure dont have the answer.
