$8K to run a buffer over the case? YIKES! And just for the record, I'm sure the 9" is a typo - a 9-footer would be a better value at that price. Also, my very limited experience suggests to me that these are likely MSRP. Yes? I remember some years ago I was cruising through a Baldwin dealer and he had MSRPs displayed on the pianos. I think a Baldwin R was listed for $47K or so. I seriously doubt that he was actually getting that price for a 5' 8" piano - maybe half-ish. Not though to suggest that I think an SD10 would go for $60K. What's more realistic - $80K or $90K? Could they really sell a new SD10 for more than a Steinway D? Yes, I know that a good SD10 can blow the lid of many Ds, but it doesn't have that famous name on the fallboard. Maybe someone with more dealer experience could set me/us straight.
