Piano opens up with playing

I notice this phenomenon with violins and guitars, that when you first sit
down to play them they can be a bit closed but as you continue to play them
they open up.  I think I'm noticing this on some pianos as well--especially
ones with new soundboards.  Anybody else find this to be true?
