Steinway Accelerated balance rail bearings

I'd look carefully at all the black lined pieces and see if you see a pattern, i.e like you say, hole slightly shifted to the front...then go with it...I don't see it being much of a factor...use what your unsure of in the bass...

The Steinway accelerated balance rail bearings have always had a black line to indicated the front side. But what makes it the front side (besides the black line)?
 
I just ordered a set of bearings from Steinway, and 84 of them have a black line, and the other 16 have no line (100 in a set). I need to figure out which is the front side for a least 4 pieces. The hole seems to be slightly shifted to the front on most of the pieces, but this is not true in all cases. 
 
Please help.
