Tuning pins more longs

Francisco,

Seven mm is not unusually thick for the webbing of a plate.

What diameter were the old pins, and how tight were they? Did you make torque 
measurements? 

Has this piano been restrung before? Ordinarily, I would doubt that you would 
need to use anything longer than 2 1/2" unless the pinblock is so damaged 
that it needs replacement whether the customer wants it or not (thinking of 
protecting your reputation).
