You all might remember that Kimball had an artist progam of sorts, where they
put pianos into such venues as the Nashville Network, Grand Ole Opry, etc.,
Johnny Carson, and several others. Most of the pianos used were the 6'7"
Kimball Viennese models. On the Carson show they had a Bosendorfer Imperial, but
they also had a 7' something "Kimball" they'd role out for some guest performers.
Now, Kimball didn't build a 7' something. What they did was take a few
Bosendorfers where larger pianos were required, and put the name Kimball on them for
the marketing purpose they served. But all of these were polished ebony. None
were in a decorator home style case in pecan.

The 6'7" Viennese model was actually a pretty good piano in its own right.
