Yes, as Ed Foote has suggested many times words like distal and proximal are much less ambiguous.

This  is totally incorrect!  The forward  edge  of the wood moulding of the "knuckle" should be in line with the CENTER of the jack! Also, a  blow  distance of  1 3/4"  is advised.  A 3/8" dip is  good  place  to  start,  but  after-touch  will  dictate  where it should  be.  Just so's  ya  know.
