The pedal picture was was more of a curiosity, as I have replaced the 
set with new ones.  Originality was not a concern here.  The old ones 
were solid brass, all three were bent and two are twisted as well.  One 
could straighten them, but I think I'll just hang onto them as  a piece

  If metal prices continue to climb as they have been, I will eventually 
sell them for scrap to fund my retirement <g>.

   The piano was in a school, and I have no idea how someone managed to 
ben the pedals so badly without inflicting any other damage on the 
piano.


My trip to the subarctic will take me to Yellowknife on Great Slave 
lake.  While I'm up there I sometimes take a side trip to Iqaluit on 
Baffin Island, which is 2000 or 3000 km to the east.  But this year 
those 12 pianos there will have to go untuned...
