You can always borrow from the high treble for the correct key and use the replacement up there...

Seems like replacing the keytop is the best bet.  It isn't difficult, as long as you have a good color match.  Steinway catalogs stuff pretty well, from what I gather, so they should have a a good match.  Heat gun, sharp knife, PVC-E glue and the correct key are about all you'll need.

Haven't tried it yet, but my understanding is that with a white keytop you simply add titanium oxide to the mix to match the color. I have used it without adding titanium oxide and the patch is indeed yellow.

Acrillikey don't work so well on plastic...yellow ring around the repair...replace the keytop...

What's the latest, best repair for a chipped keytop? This is a small notch in the center of the key lip. It's on a Steinway D in a good theater. Haven't done this recently so I need an update on the latest technology.
