OT - Federal "No Call List" ???

The Do Not Call list does not apply to commercial phone numbers, only to
private numbers. I still listed my business line with them, and it has cut
the calls down to nearly nothing.

Blowing out some poor schmuck's ear with a boat horn isn't going to stop the
marketing companies from calling you. It only damages that one person who's
working for low wages at a bad job. If, on the other hand, you ask them to
add your number to their Do Not Call list, they have to comply (whether it's
a business phone or not).

Does that include calls from Bombay and Delhi? Here, international calls
bypass the list. You might also find that the computers at the other end
dial anyway and only disconnect after four rings when it finds your number
on the list. So you still get interrupted only to discover they've already
hung up on the other end. GRRRRRRRRRRRing GRRRRRRing!!!!

The Fed "No Call List" takes about a month, after you list your number,
to be in effect. There are certain companies/institutions, etc. that are
still allowed to make telephone solicitations. I don't know what types
those are. Being listed has cut out approx. 90% of my unwanted calls. The
rest I screen with Caller ID.

I'd like to know if any of you have had any good experiences with the
Federal "No Call List"??? I thought it was a good idea, but it isn't
working, IMO! I continue to get Solicitation calls that disrupt my work in
the shop. grrr! I have however, come up with a solution: I purchased a "Safe
& Sound", hand held, Boat Horn. When I get one of those calls and I
determine that it is, in fact, some moron trying to dip into my pocket....I
let em' have a two second blast!<G> Haven't had any of them idjits call
again! hehe
      I hope Andy or??? let's this through.<G>
