It's an inanimate object without feelings or emotions. What has it done to you? Now, if the piano is beyond repair, and just not worth working on. I gently tell the customer that the life span of a piano is 75 - 100 years, after which it it not worth it to repair any more. I then tell them "I am authorized to give the piano last rites." If it's the customer you "hate", I would just tell them I prefer not to work for you anymore.
