Free Chickering quarter grand

Indeed they are a little narrow. The cheek blocks are about 5/8" and maybe 1.5 in or so.

I believe the real name is 3/4 grand and we have shortened it to Quarter grand. The one that I have seen are not as wide as a regular grand. ????? Maybe Jack W. can tell us.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, or at least not 'til some older and wiser than I, but the way I heard it "D" is for "Darn Big" or "Dang Big" or whatever...
