(My first Faulk titanium lever had an ebony handle that was beautiful, but alas, it split out and had to be replaced.)

Yikes...don't say that. any idea on how/why it split? Mine is ebony also...

The carbon fiber shaft is about the same stiffness as titanium, but is lighter.

The head is cool. Note that the production head is smaller diameter than that of the prototype in the picture I sent. The advantage of the head is that its tubular configuration provides a stiffer coupling of handle to tip. Actually, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Charles were to consider adapting the aluminum head for his titanium levers as well.

I am planning to get Charles to make me a custom tuning lever using some ebony I have. I was just thinking of getting his standard (up to now) titanium shaft. Do you think the carbon shaft is that much superior? The head on the carbon tool seems a bit big and bulky (it is a lot bigger than on the titanium shaft) - does that interfere with sight lines when moving the tool for pin to pin?
