As Joe said, it's common in squares (nothing grand about them 
according to Newton, and I'd have to agree), and that was 
David Stanwood who wrote up the experiments. I've long 
wondered how Bill automatically gets the credit for pretty 
much everything perceived as innovative without even showing 
up. He's done plenty of good stuff, but isn't necessarily the 
universal source.
