I used to repair electronic organs and keyboards. I gave it up as the popularity of the organs dropped.
You have to carry a large inventory of parts, and test equipment, oscilloscope, signal generator, variable power supply, meters, soldering stuff., etc. I ended up selling the parts books etc for less than I paid.
The guy I sold them to, said he would starve, if he just did the organ/ keyboard repairs.
He does installs of house audio systems, and security systems.
Look at them as being computers, every year they come out with something that does more for less money.
Sometimes, in ten years or less you can't get the parts.
Mind you I was in a mainly rural area, so your area might be different.
Check with a local store, and find out if there is a demand.
Initially it did pay, because I could combine the calls, and sometimes the electronic calls would lead to piano calls and vice-versa.

I have been getting calls of late for repairing keyboards. Several weeks ago I received a call from a retirement home about a non-functioning damper pedal, and I just got off the phone with a church that has two sticking keys on their keyboard.

I am just wondering how many of us repair keyboards, and if it's worth getting involved with.
