[pianotech] pin block fitting and shellac

Hello

I am wondering for your best tips in shellac-ing soundboards- how do you
account for the vertical edges without having shellac be thicker at the area
where the two planes meet?

Also- when working to fit a new pin block using the chalk method- is it just
with experience that you know which chalk marks to file and which to leave?
