   Hi Joe 
    again as I said I used a scrap piece off the block and what the new picture shows is the uniformity of the top cap on the entire block.

 Again....  This was a small piece that came off the angled cut and I was trying to trim it a bit to size on the band saw for a decent picture which...didn't work.  The top cap is (uniformly) 7 mm
 And it isn't sloppy. Come on  now.... glasses on.... microscope off.  I'm done
