Paul, that makes way too much sense to be taken seriously...

I'm wondering about what is gained by printing the delinquency letters in
advance.

What is lost is this:

(a) Paper

(b) Postage

(c) Staff time answering phone calls from ~80 members like Will who have
actually been renewed, yet have been told that they aren't

(d) Perceived integrity of HL (is this pre-printing a new procedure this
year?)

(e) ~80 members' time and emotion

(f) countless others' time reading this thread (yeah, I know about the
delete key)

Everyone seems to be missing my clearly stated point here. At the outset, I
stated that I was unconcerned that this would not be quickly resolved. I am
NOT worried. I am 99.99988989999% confident that this will be resolved
today when I call. The issues are with the process and the software
interface.

I realize that you want to do better next time, Chuck. But let's not go hog
wild and start doing crazy things like renewing a full day before the
deadline. You are clearly overreacting... J
