I've been using a Danair <http://www.danairinc.com/palmnailer.html> for about 30 years -- the same one. I have no idea how many pianos I've strung with the thing. It was even used on the line at Baldwin for a few weeks. I've had it rebuilt by the factory once. Very nice and helpful people. It's like they personally have an interest in what you're doing and they want to make sure their tool is doing its job properly just for you. ddf Delwin D Fandrich Piano Design & Fabrication 6939 Foothill Court SW, Olympia, Washington 98512 USA Phone 360.515.0119 Cell 360.388.6525 del at fandrichpiano.com ddfandrich at gmail.com -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of jim at grandpianosolutions.com Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 9:46 AM To: pianotech Subject: [pianotech] palm nailers? Looking for a palm nailer, mainly for inserting dowels in S&S rails, but perhaps also for tuning pins. There are some mini versions like this which seem attractive in the not too much woompf department. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=palm+nailer&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozill a:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=613423081935941 8664&sa=X&ei=cu-rT-jLDoT-ggeOo8C0AQ&ved=0CM8BEPICMAA <http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=palm+nailer&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozil la:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=61342308193594 18664&sa=X&ei=cu-rT-jLDoT-ggeOo8C0AQ&ved=0CM8BEPICMAA> Any experience with these small guys, or are the larger ones controllable.
