Jon & Newton & all,

Lots of great suggestions. I've attended David Stanwood's classes at =
least twice and always learn more each time.

Another method would be to first determine the required
FW and then place the key front on a scale and tare it out. Then =
place leads of the

would be less work.

I agree. It makes sense to not remove a lead that is needed anyway.
Another concern would be to have the capstan/cushion contact point =
intersect the line
drawn from the bottom of the br hole to the wip center while the key =
is half way down.
So you may need to adjust the height of the heel.

I checked this before ordering the new wippens. The new wippens =
actually work better than the old. I learned this trick from Rick =
Baldassin's class. The old wippens rose to the line but never actually =
passed it. The new wippens are working just as they should as far as =
the capston/cushion point.

I take it you will be using spring assist wippens. In that case the =
BW needs to be set
higher with the springs off and fine tune the BW with the springs.
    Contact Dave Stanwood.

Yes the wippens have the spring assist.
Today has been a very productive day. Thanks everyone.
