That sort of statistical info is available from NASM.  The CAUT Committee 
looked at that in some detail when the Guidelines was first published.  As I 
recall, at that time  some of the material was not available to the public, 
but was published among NASM's members.  It might be worthwhile to talk with 
one's dean or department chair to gain access to the info, which may even be 
on hand already in his/her files.
