As far as harpsichords, my "security blanket" books are from Hubbard
Harpsichords,  www.hubharp.com  -- they have one on regulation and repairs
for about $14 and one on temperaments for about $21. I don't get too
excited about the temperaments (others here can help you with that) but the
reg and repair book is wonderful for a quick review the night before, so
that I know what all those little levers do.
