[CAUT] 1098 slight redesign

David, Ron, others,

You're probably right (gut feeling) that it is the board. I put some
punchings (3mm) under the hitch and got the downbearing close to zero.
No tonal change. Ron's vertical hitch pins are going to at least let me
play with bearing easier.

Ron suggested I float the liner. I might try that. Also, what about
routing a trench (what's that really called?) like Overs does? One last
thing, what about lightening the bridge? It's got quite a bit of mass.
I've seen holes drilled, etc.

Just a reminder to all about this thread; I'm looking for a way to
improve these 1098s w/o Major work. Something we might all benefit from.

Thanks,

Jim Busby BYU

Sounds like the scaling may not be the problem. Seems like board design
is
probably more likely the culprit. What's the bearing measurement down
there. It should be near zero.
