This seems to the the one area where we in the end differ. Seems to me that just ignoring the variations in timing one sees reflected in the variations in pedal lift and then compensating for them by adjusting the capstans... time after time is bound to result in pretty uneven timing sooner or later. Sure... it is far easier to tweak for pedaling. No argument there. But hey,,, I'm open enough. Next time I get a chance to look at the piano I took the picture from... I'll run a good check on damper timing for each key and let you all know what I find. Looking at the capstans... its clear they've been tweaked quite a bit more times then just a few. I dont really find that it takes allllll that much time to loosen wire screws and adjust tray lift that way myself. Cheers RicB Once the dampers settle, unevenly; it is far easier to tweak the capstan for pedaling than it is to adjust the underlever for regulation. Real world situation, set underlever to proper height; adjust capstan for even lift.
